Good day, my fellow readers!
Today I want to start by asking you all a question. Have you used your faith recently? Please don’t answer a few seconds later with a vague answer. I want you to truly ask yourself when you put your faith into action. Just like getting muscles takes some work or building up endurance for a race takes practice, faith also requires something of us. We all know that shoes don’t break in on the shelf. Arriving at the finish line doesn’t happen in one step. Faith is the same way. It will never grow or become powerful just sitting in your Bible, being read one day a week. Faith is a BIG subject. Many churches repetitively talk about how having it will give you a perfect life. Preachers get the concept of faith wrong, thinking that if you have it, nothing will be impossible for you. I used to think this! Until one day my prayers didn’t get answered in “my timing.” Unfortunately, more people are condemned if they get sick, or if a loved one dies. They are told that they do not have ENOUGH faith, and if they did, that these things would never happen. Newsflash! We live in an imperfect world where you and I both will go through the waves, and the valley of the shadow of death. The Bible never said we would never face evil. It said we never had to be afraid of it. Faith is not a protective bubble we can put around us to keep us from harm. Faith is not a weight for working out we pick up only on Sundays and Wednesdays. Faith is not something that can be developed overnight. It doesn’t mean that we won’t face mountains, it means that the mountain will never be unconquerable with the power of God. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 I memorized Hebrews 11:6 recently, and since then, I have been pressing on more and more in my faith, seeking to find new ways to apply my faith. As I was spending time in the Word of God this morning, He spoke something to me that I must share: “I want you to apply faith to every area of your life. Even if you can’t see me in it yet, or if it seems impossible.” Yes, we have heard countless verses on faith, but have we nonchalantly thrown them around and put them on bumper stickers, or do we truly know what faith means to God and how important it is to Him? By the sound of the Bible verse above, its serious. God is serious. We need to have faith, and we need to test our faith. Faith like children. So how do we grow our faith in God?
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.” Ephesians 3:16-17 Faith without works is dead. God has called every one of us to put our faith into action. One way I’ve put my faith into action this week is with my health. Since we got in an accident back in January, I’ve been having very painful headaches. Today, God told me to put my faith in Him whether I experienced change in my head’s pain or not. Of course, it’s so much easier to have faith in God once your prayers are answered, but God was telling me to have faith, now. I started trusting in Him and realizing that honoring Him means to put my faith in action. Well, He showed me that putting faith in Him is not useless! I have had no severe head pains today whatsoever. Once we trust Him, then He will act. It may not be in our timing, or even in the way that we expected, but His power never subsides to fulfill His plans. He did a miracle for me, and He is waiting to do one for you, too. Put your faith in Him, and in Him alone. He rewards them who diligently seek Him! He has called us to walk by faith. Will we obey Him? It's time to feed our faith! Love you all! Hannah K. I Dare You #9- I dare you to have faith in God. Do every example I listed above! (1-3). Pray for God to help you strengthen your faith. Pray that He’ll help you drop your trust in man. Even if that means that you leave your comfort zone or drop that meeting with your friends.
